Our Story
I spent ten years in the foster care system learning to need nothing, say nothing, be nothing. After surviving foster care and an emotionally abusive marriage, I couldn’t find cards that spoke to my reality.
Hallmark doesn’t make cards for trauma survivors. So I made them myself…

What Makes These Cards Different
They tell the truth.
They say, “I became collateral damage in your war” when you had to leave to save yourself.
They say, “I’m learning to mother the little girl I used to be,” when you’re doing inner child work.
They say “Black girl healed” when that’s a victory worth celebrating.
They acknowledge that some of us carry invisible dragons—trauma that no one else can see.
These aren’t cards for people who want pretty words.
They’re for people who need real ones.
The Invisible Dragons
The brown door on every card represents a threshold—the moment you step from pain into healing, from surviving into living.
The “invisible dragons” are the trauma we carry. The wounds no one else can see. The pain that shaped us but doesn’t have to define us.
These cards help you name your dragons. They give you language for the unspeakable.
Who I Am
I’m Latasha. Writer. Former foster youth. Independent trauma researcher for twenty years.
I hold a B.S. in Behavioral Health from Thomas Jefferson University. My fiction has been published in Please See Me Magazine. I write visceral essays about survival and healing every Thursday on Substack. I know trauma academically. But more importantly, I lived it. I created these cards because survivors deserve words that speak to their pain and their power. Words that don’t sugarcoat. Words that understand.
What’s Next
More cards. More stories. More truth.
I’m working on a survival guide for foster youth aging out of the system. Revising a memoir about growing up in Philadelphia during the crack era. Speaking at events about trauma, healing, and breaking generational cycles.
But right now? I’m here. Making cards for conversations Hallmark pretends don’t exist.
